Routine Appointment

To request a routine appointment in the next 14 days:

  • phone us on 01224 849400, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Your appointment

An appointment is normally for 10 minutes and is for one person only. Generally only one problem is dealt with in a consultation. A longer appointment can be arranged for more complex problems.

Separate appointments should be made for other family members. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.

You can book an appointment with any GP. However, not all GPs provide all services and you may have to wait for an appointment with a specific GP.

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery

Please make sure that we have the best contact number for you and be prepared that the incoming call from the GP will be displayed as 0300 373 0717.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

To cancel your appointment:

  • phone us on 01224 849400, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm

  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

If you feel you require an urgent home visit for a serious condition that cannot wait, the Duty Doctor will be informed and will normally speak to you directly to assess your needs.

Transport to Healthcare Information Centre (THInC)

Do you need advice about travelling to and from your medical appointment?

The Transport to Healthcare Information Centre (THInC) can help. They provide practical transport advice for people who have difficulty getting to and from medical appointments in Grampian.

The service provides a dedicated telephone service offering guidance on accessing suitable transport options to get to and from appointments when you have no means of [personal transport. The centre can provide details of suitable bus or train times, contact telephone numbers and other services such as local dial-a-bus or voluntary care schemes.

Please note that THInC does not book transport but can assist with travel advice

The centre is the first of its kind in the UK and is a joint initiative between Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Moray Council, NHS Grampian, The Scotish Ambulance Service and Nestrans. THInC is one of the projects taken forward as part of the Health and Transport Action Plan.
