Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you will need to complete a Travel Immunisation Assessment Form at least 6-8 weeks prior to traveling and hand it into Reception. Your travel vaccination requirements will then be assessed by the Practice Nurse with specialist training in travel vaccinations.

You will receive a letter offering you an appointment with the Travel Nurse and outlining your vaccination requirements as assessed from your completed form

NB: Skene Medical Group offers a general Primary Care Travel clinic, we will refer patients to a Private Travel clinic for the following reasons:-

  • Occupational / Business Travel (this should be provided by your employer)
  • Complex travel itinerary
  • Travel requiring immunisation with non NHS travel vaccinations (private prescription) such as Yellow Fever
  • Too sort notice prior to travelling (we recommend 6-8 weeks)

You can download a Travel Risk Assessment form here: Travel Immunisation Assessment Form

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription e.g. Malaria and these incur a charge over and above any normal prescription charge.  This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
